In a relatively close victory, Fairfield Eagles beat Palestine Wildcats Friday night, securing their fourth win of the season with a final score of 17-14. The game against Palestine started poorly for Fairfield, with Palestine gaining a quick lead in the first quarter. “Palestine was big and fast,” said Bachtel. “They did a lot of blitzing off the edges. We are going to work on the challenges that gave us. We caused four turnovers which helped us out during the game. In the future, we need to make their mistakes hurt them more.” A stalemate ensued between both teams throughout the rest of the first half, as well as the better part of the second half.

“We came across a team we underestimated,” said senior Cody Ferguson. “We had to play the best football we could to help my team come out on top.”
