After attending a record 457 consecutive football games, Fairfield High School Principal Von Wade was awarded Friday night for his perfect attendance by six student representatives.  Wade was also awarded by the FHS cheerleaders at the Homecoming Pep Rally for attending 42 consecutive Homecoming Pep Rallies from 1977-2018.

Wade, who has been with the district since 1977, received awards in the past for attending his 250th and 400th pep rallies.

“The 400th was actually for the state semifinal game,” he explained, smiling at the memory.

After taking a win during last week’s Homecoming game against Connally, Fairfield Eagles will face the Robinson Rockets Friday, Nov. 6, at the Robinson stadium. The Eagles beat the Connally Cougars Friday night 44-9, tying Fairfield’s win-loss record in District to 2-2.

“Robinson is 3-1 in district,” Head Coach John Bachtel said. “They had a big overtime win against Mexia last week. They are always explosive on offense. This year they are playing well on defense. The front four they have is causing opponents a lot of trouble.”

While Robinson’s overall score is 5-3, the team currently holds only one loss in district, making their record 3-1.
