Police seek bank robbery suspect

Police are currently searching for this man who allegedly robbed the Donie Bank Monday morning.

On Monday, Nov. 5, at approximately 10:04 a.m., an armed robbery occurred at the Donie Bank, 235 Main St. in Donie. The suspect was described as a white male of unknown age, wearing a fake beard and wig (black in color) dark sunglasses, and a baseball cap. The suspect was wearing a gray sweatshirt/Hoodie that bore the lettering "Maine East Athletic Dept" that was displayed in blue or purple lettering. Donie couple charged with smoking drugs with child

Responding to a request for a welfare check last month on a child alleged to be smoking marijuana with his mother, Freestone County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested the mother and stepfather and turned the child over to other relatives. According to reports, deputies arrived at the residence in Donie and about five minutes later Crystal Wilkins, 37, and Thomas Wilkins, 35, drove up in a van from a wooded area behind the residency.
