Wortham students chosen for area

Saturday proved to be a successful day for four members of the Wortham High School Choir Program. Since July, students of the state of Texas in high school programs have been working on selections chosen by the Texas Music Educators Association for advancing students to the state level choirs. Though Wortham ISD is a 2A classification, it is proud to have both a junior high and high school choir program. There are currently 35 students studying to benefit from the classes and maintain a busy calendar schedule for performance.

Eight students from each singing part (soprano, alto, tenor, and bass) were chosen Saturday, Nov. 3, through audition to represent Region 8’s area choir. All students plan to use music and singing for scholarship auditions in the next few months as they
