First Grade – Reported by Patty Sue Smith – The first grade can read all their reading charts and know all the flash card words taken from their charts. They will get a reader soon. Kenneth Clary was absent yesterday. Glenda Owens bought a real pretty bouquet of pink roses yesterday.

Mrs. Tom Johnson Dies at Dew – After a long illness, Mrs. Tom Johnson died at her home in Dew Friday evening. Burial was in the Dew Cemetery Sunday. Rev. Maurice Evans conducted religious services and was assisted by Rev. R.L. Ryburn. Near surviving relatives are the husband, four children, two brothers, and three sisters: Compton and Henry Norman and Mrs. Ida Long, Mrs. Carrie Stanley, and Mrs. Eunice Stringer.

Airman Thomas Completes Basic at Lackland AFB – SAN ANTONIO – Airman Thomas E. Horton, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Horton of Teague, has completed basic training at Lackland AFB. He has been assigned to the Air Force Technical Training Center at Lowry AFB, Colo., for specialized schooling as a missile electrician specialist. Airman Horton, a 1966 graduate of Teague High School, has studied at Stephen F. Austin State College.
